Cubano sandwich recipe

Looking for new and interesting ways to use leftovers? This high-protein sandwich has amazing flavors and is perfect for leftover shredded pork tenderloin or pork shoulder. Serve with a side salad.

Serving: 1


  • 1 tablespoon dijon aioli
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 ounce Swiss cheese
  • 2 ounces ham, sliced
  • 3 ounces pulled pork (leftover or store-bought)
  • ¼ cup dill pickle, sliced thin
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil


  1. Spread the dijon aioli on one side of each piece of bread.
  2. On one piece of bread put your Swiss cheese, ham, pulled pork, and sliced pickles, followed by the last piece of bread.
  3. Heat olive oil in a medium-sized skillet on your stove over medium-low heat.
  4. Gently lay the sandwich in the pan, keeping it together. When the bottom of the first piece of bread browns, flip the sandwich.
  5. Leave the sandwich on the other side until the bottom of the bread browns.
  6. The sandwich is ready when the insides are warm, the cheese is melted, and the bread is toasted.
